The laminating process of the laminating machine refers to the entire process of laminating images and photos, including film selection, lamination manufacturing, and cutting. Mainly used for post production of advertising images and wedding photos. Coated images have high anti-corrosion, waterproof, dustproof, wrinkle resistant, and UV resistant properties, which can create a strong three-dimensional sense and artistic appeal. The cold laminating machine is the main equipment for completing lamination, and is also a necessary supporting equipment for computer spray painting machines and electrostatic photo machines. The commonly used equipment for laminating includes four categories: manual cold laminating machines, electric cold laminating machines, self uncovering cold laminating machines, and automatic cold and hot laminating machines, as well as transfer printing equipment.

Effect

1. Cover the protective film on the image to improve its strength and surface wear resistance.

2. Isolate the image from the external air to prevent deformation and cracking caused by corrosive gases, dampness, and dryness in the atmosphere, as well as fading and discoloration caused by rainwater erosion and ultraviolet radiation. Maintain the bright and long-lasting color of the image and extend its display life.

3. Paste the pictures on the display board or fabric to create a hanging advertising image.

4. The special facial mask or plate is pressed on the picture to form a picture with special artistic effects such as light, matt, oil painting, virtual, three-dimensional, etc.

Classification of film covering methods

The lamination process completed by various materials and equipment can be divided into several categories according to the temperature and purpose of the raw materials (consumables) used. The following categories will be introduced.

Cold lamination: The method of laminating a protective film onto the surface of an image using cold pressing at room temperature, known as cold lamination. There are also single sided and double sided mounting. In terms of operation methods, there are also manual film removal and self removal film mounting. The cold lamination process has the characteristics of simple operation, good effect, and low cost. Widely used in the post production of advertising lightboxes, engineering drawings, and wedding photography.

Hot lamination

The mounting method of specialized hot film on equipment heated to a certain temperature (approximately 100-180 ° C) is called hot mounting, which can be divided into single sided hot mounting and double sided hot mounting. Due to its good transparency and waterproof properties, good heat resistance, and strong hardness, it is suitable for post production of advertising images relying on lighting or other occasions. However, the price of hot laminating equipment and consumables is relatively expensive, the operation is complex, the energy consumption is high, and the cost is also high.

Similar to hot lamination, but generally miniaturized. The largest size of plastic packaging equipment on the market is 24 inches, which is packaged using special plastic film heating. It is mainly used for packaging documents, small size images or documents.

Vacuum lamination

It is the use of a dedicated vacuum laminating machine to vacuum the film and the painting, and then shape it at a certain temperature to complete the lamination. Its operation method is complex, costly, and the image size is limited to some extent. However, the mounting quality is high, and the image texture is strong, making it suitable for photos.
